It may feel like it was just Valentine’s Day, but we’re under a month away from another holiday: Mother’s Day! Yes, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13 this year and it’s a great opportunity to show our mothers just how much they means to us. Since Moms aren’t always easy to shop for, I’ve pulled together 20 of the best gifts for moms to provide some inspiration. These gifts fall into a wide range of price points and categories, so there’s sure to be something for everyone!
#1. An eReader or eBooks
For the mom that loves reading, an eReader is a thoughtful and practical gift. It will let her download books quickly, save on book storage space, and is far more portable than heavy books. If your mom travels a lot, even better! No need to lug around multiple books.
While I have a Kobo eReader and like it, you may want to consider an Amazon Kindle as there are often better and more frequent discounts on Kindle’s eBooks than Kobo’s. The Kindle Paperwhite E-reader (pictured above) gets fantastic reviews.
Does your mom already have a Kindle? Gift her a Kindle Unlimited Membership Plan so that she can unlock unlimited reading from over 1 million eBooks!
#2. Beautiful Flowers
Mother’s Day and flowers go together like PB & J, and for good reason. They’re a beautiful, fresh gift that can brighten a room. Most people don’t buy flowers regularly, so they make a nice treat.
There is no shortage of options for flowers, but I found some pretty arrangements (including the one pictured above!) in the Most Popular section at Flowers Fast. They offer same-day delivery at no extra charge, so this makes a perfect gift if you’re scrambling at the last minute.
#3. An Amazon Prime Gift Membership
If your mom loves shopping or simply the convenience of getting things quickly, look no further than a gift membership to Amazon Prime. She’ll be able to order pretty much anything she needs with free two-day shipping and no minimum order size. She’ll also get access to music, TV shows, and movies through the Prime program.
Memberships are available in 3-month and 12-month plans and make a great last-minute gift. Shop here.
#4. Chocolate on Chocolate
For the chocoholic, look no further than this Chocolate Celebration Gift Basket from Ghirardelli. It gets excellent reviews, and includes a wide selection of chocolate squares and bars.
Looking for something different? Shop the impressive Ghirardelli Gifts section.
#5. A Powerful Wireless Speaker
If your mom loves listening to music, a wireless speaker makes a fantastic gift. They’re easy to use and produce sound quality far better than a smartphone or laptop. The PLAY:1 Mini Home Speaker from Sonos is a great choice at a reasonable price point. I was impressed to see that it streams over wi-fi and not Bluetooth, which means music isn’t interrupted by device alerts.
You can shop the entire Sonos wireless speaker line here.
#6. Cute Pyjamas
Shopping for clothes for your mom can be tough, since it all comes down to style and fit. Pyjamas are generally more forgiving size-wise, and if you keep the receipt, she can always exchange them. I love this 2-Piece set from Kohl’s (pictured above) since it comes in multiple patterns, and the satiny material makes it work year-round.
Looking for something different? You can shop the entire selection of pyjama sets at Kohl’s here.
#7. A Handy Notebook or Journal
If your mom loves stationary and paper products, there are tons of gifts you could get her. A notebook is great for her purse or handbag, especially if she’s a list person and likes writing things down. If your mom likes to journal or write out her thoughts, a journal makes a beautiful gift. And a planner can help keep her life in order.
The product pictured and links shared are all from Erin Condren, my favourite place for planners. Their products are made in the U.S.A. and are of very high quality. I also love the ability to customize and personalize many of their products. In fact, most of the planner stickers I sell in my Etsy shop are specifically designed to work with the Erin Condren planners!
Plus, if you’re new to Erin Condren and shop through this link, you’ll get $10 off your first purchase!
#8. A Clothing Rental Subscription
If your mom likes trying new clothes and styles but doesn’t love shopping, gift her a membership to Le Tote! Available in memberships from 1 to 6 months, she can get unlimited totes with free shipping both ways.
If you’re not familiar with Le Tote, here’s how it works: your mom will receive a “tote” of clothing and accessories that she can rent and wear for however long she’d like. Once she returns her box (with free shipping!) she can customize another one. Find all the details here.
#9. A Pair of Delicate Earrings
If your mom loves jewelry and accessories, these pretty Esmee Leaf Drops from Stella & Dot (pictured above) make a beautiful gift! I also the Hammered Wire Large Hoops from Stella & Dot if she’s more of a gold person. Shop the entire Stella & Dot collection here.
#10. A Handy Instant Pot
If your mom loves cooking or simply making life easier, an Instant Pot will be her new best friend! My mom bought one a few months ago and my parents use it all the time for various recipes. In fact, I’ve heard that recipes that would take 8 hours in a slow cooker take 8 MINUTES in an Instant Pot. Pretty impressive!
Pictured above is the Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 from Amazon and it gets great reviews.
#11. A Sleek Watch
A gorgeous watch like the Belamar from MVMT is both practical and stylish. They also offer free shipping and free returns, making shopping easy. Shop MVMT’s women’s collection for more.
#12. A Fitbit
If one of your mom’s goals is to be more active, a Fitbit can help in that journey! The Fitbit Alta (pictured above) is one of the slimmer designs, and boasts many features including a heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, step counter, and activity tracker.
#13. A Great Cookbook
If your mom loves cooking or is trying to cook more often, a great cookbook can be the perfect gift. And if you’re looking for a suggestion, Cravings by Chrissy Teigen is a good one to check out. It’s managed to hang on to an overall 5-star review on Amazon and receives praise for having quality recipes that aren’t too complicated to make.
#14. Cozy Slippers
Treat your mom to luxe slippers she may not buy for herself. The Ugg Aira Slipper gets incredible reviews, and comes in two versatile colours. The sole is made of a durable rubber, while the top features genuine shearling and wool lining to offer the softest feel.
#15. Nourishing Hand Cream
Want to buy your mom something beauty-related but not sure what to get? A pretty trio of hand creams is a great choice! This set from L’Occitane is packaged beautifully. And 3 is the perfect number: she can keep one at home, one in the car, and one in her purse.
#16. A Carry-All Tote
The Greer Vegan Leather Tote from Cents of Style makes the perfect Mother’s Day gift. It’s roomy, comes with a matching clutch, and its classic style makes it versatile enough for different seasons and climates.
#17: A Fancy Candle
If your mom is a candle lover or just appreciates small luxuries, the Diptyque Baies Candle is a classic choice. Grab the 6.5 oz. one here on Amazon.
#18. An Oh-So-Soft Heated Blanket
If you haven’t tried a heated blanket, you’re missing out! They’re cozy, functional, and this beautiful one from Amazon is also a beautiful accent piece for any living space. Perfect for the mom who loves reading, curling up on the couch, or sprucing up her home.
#19. A High Quality Water Bottle
If your mom walks, works out, or just loves staying hydrated, get her a pretty water bottle. I’m a big fan of S’Well bottles and have gifted them in the past. They’re made with high-grade stainless steel and are insulated so that there’s no condensation on the outside of the bottle. They keep hot drinks hot for up to 12 hours and cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours!
While there is no shortage of options to choose from, the Oahu from their Surf Collection (pictured above) is a great pick! Shop S’Well here.
#20. A Cute Card
Mother’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a card, and I love this cute one from Turtle’s Soup on Etsy.
Rather DIY it? Search “mothers day card” on Google or Etsy for inspiration, and make your own! I often do that, print the card on cardstock, and then use a bone folder to get the perfect crease.
