According to a recent report, the average office worker sends or receives a whopping 121 emails a day. 121 emails! It’s no surprise that many are completely unnecessary and bog us down. But what about the useful ones? Today’s post shares three of the best email newsletters.
These subscriptions are informative, enlightening, or uplifting. They can really start your day off on the right foot, and over time, contribute to a healthier, stronger mindset.
On to the emails!
The Skimm
Since a certain President has come into leadership, I’ve started finding the news harder to follow. It seems like one catastrophe after another, with major divisions and conflict engulfing the media. Regardless which side you’re on, the news can be something bitter and unpleasant to follow.
But how can we stay informed and engaged in national and international news? Many of us want to remain aware and informed, but not at the cost of our mindset.
Enter: The Skimm. A daily digest of the top headlines shared in a succinct, readable format. Here’s a snapshot from one of their daily emails:
I love how The Skimm provides enough background to provide context, and then contains additional links to delve deeper on topics. They write in a smart and witty way that I much prefer over the dramatics of many major news outlets.

Notes from the Universe
When my coach told me about Notes from the Universe, I fell in love with the idea. Run by tut (The Universe Talks), Notes are emails written by “The Universe” with spiritual insight, inspiring thoughts, and motivational words. Notes come personalized with your name (and sometimes your goals too!) and written in a cheeky way that is sweet and relatable.
Here are a few that I’ve saved:
After receiving them for the past 6 months, they are some of my favourite emails.
Notes are sent up to five days a week and you can choose your frequency and days. You can also enter up to two goals to personalize your Notes even more.

Now I Know
If you love to learn, Now I Know will be up your alley.
This is my newest subscription of the three, and I wish I had discovered it sooner. Now I Know shares “all sorts of interesting things” from history lessons to human biology theories to crazy stories and everything in between.
Here’s an excerpt from one of my favourites:
Always fascinating and well-written, it’s no wonder Now I Know has grown to over 100,000 subscribers.
