I’ve never been a big fan of traditional diets. Heavily restricting my food intake or eliminating certain foods never felt sustainable, and I often felt deprived. This would then lead to resentment, and I would always end up quitting early because I missed my favourite foods too much.
Despite this, I’ve found success with WW, formerly Weight Watchers. After first year University (and the “Frosh/Freshman 15” that came with it), I gave it a shot and easily lost the weight, without much effort and without feeling hungry.
So when it came time to tackle losing the baby weight, I decided to give the new program a try. WW has reinvented itself several times since I first tried it, and their new program is the most flexible yet. Offering three different plans, members can find what works best for them based on their lifestyle and food preferences.
I’m on Green, which offers the most daily SmartPoints, but the smallest amount of ZeroPoint™ foods. This works well for me because it gives me the freedom to satisfy cravings without breaking the bank. No food is off limits – instead, it’s about balancing what I eat in a day to stay within my SmartPoints budget, while incorporating movement into my daily routine.
I’ve been on the program since the start of January, and I’ve been really impressed with the results. I’m consistently losing 1-2 lbs per week (in line with WW‘s expected results) which has been really motivating. It’s enough to see a positive change without feeling like I’m losing weight at an unhealthy rate or starving myself. And I never feel deprived or resentful – instead, I feel armed with the information to make better food choices each day.
So when I heard that truLOCAL and WW were teaming up, I was really excited. We’ve been proud truLOCAL subscribers for several years now (check out my original review here), and their incredible products are a part of our daily meals. Now that I’m on WW, I have a newfound appreciation for their lean cuts like ground turkey and boneless skinless chicken breasts which are staples in our home.
truLOCAL‘s partnership with WW has many incredible facets, but one of my favourite things is the WW Signature Box, which I’ve had the pleasure of trying.
