We’re a few months into the year – how are those goals coming? Are you crushing them or finding it to be a bit trickier to meet everything you set out to do? I normally find myself in the latter camp, where I set aggressive goals and end up falling flat. Thankfully, I worked with a blogging coach in January who helped me set goals in a brand new way that has overhauled my approach and helped me succeed. Today I’ll be sharing the three simple steps that will teach you exactly how to write goals you can achieve. HOW…
At the risk of sounding like a total nerd, I love planning. From planning sessions to colour-coding, time blocking to batch working, I’m a productivity junkie. I love it so much that in 2015 I was so into planning in my Erin Condren Life Planner that I started making my own planner supplies and selling them on Etsy. Since leaving the corporate world, I’ve shifted to using an electronic planner to plan each week’s activities. It keeps me focused on the most important priorities, helps me track my hours, and adds structure to the crazy world of entrepreneurship. It also lets me manage my hour-by-hour schedule in a…

Having absolute certainty as to where we should focus and a clear list of tasks is empowering and freeing. And today I’ll be showing you how to do just…

Have you ever given someone a compliment or thanked someone and been surprised at how positive their response was? Something that seems so small and insignificant as a kind word or stopping to express thanks can have a HUGE impact on someone. And if you think about it, it makes total sense. How often has a small act of gratitude made your day? Or motivated you to be even better? Sometimes a simple thanks can make a big difference. One of my absolute favourite things is recognizing others. In fact, I used to say that my ideal job would be CRO:…

Update: truLOCAL is now available across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia! Learning about new Canadian companies is one of my favourite parts of being a blogger, so when truLOCAL reached out to me, I was excited to hear more. As some of you may know, I used to be vegan, and while I now eat fish and poultry, I remain aware of the importance of how food is sourced and some of the steps we can take to better treat our bodies, animals, and the planet. truLOCAL‘s guiding principles and business model are really appealing and I’m excited to share the experience of my first order. As the token millennial at family gatherings, I’m often asked about this “Uber thing”. “What is it?” “Why is it so great?” and “It’s causing a lot of issues for the taxi drivers, you know.” I live in the Greater Toronto Area where taxis are expensive and we don’t have an ideal public transportation system. I also don’t have a car. Given this, Uber has been my go-to when the public transportation system doesn’t cut it, and that’s meant close to 100 rides in the past 2 years. I’m a staunch supporter of Uber from a customer experience perspective. Yes, I am aware of the…
As some of you know, I’ve recently moved in with my boyfriend. After a lot of thought and discussion, we settled on me moving into his place to cut back on cost and also ease some of the hassle of moving. Now, as you can imagine it’s no small feat combining two peoples’ things into one condo. While I stored most of my furniture, I still had a ton of stuff to move: clothes, accessories, books, kitchenware, toiletries, decor… the list goes on! When it came time to start packing things up, I chose to investigate renting reusable bins. I had…
