How do I Confirm my Etsy Shop is in Vacation Mode?
You can check your shop’s appearance by visiting the public page of the shop or the message or banner showing that you are on vacation. If you have to confirm, go to the same settings and options you selected to activate vacation mode and ensure the toggle is on.
When I activated the vacation mode, I was curious about how it would appear on the buyer’s page. For that, I logged in from my sister’s account and saw the vacation message about being temporarily closed. If you don’t have another account, use incognito mode.
Also, your items can’t be seen in search, and your Etsy members can revisit them once it is back. They will get notification when it is back.
It will not affect your previous deliveries and related things. You will be able to issue refunds, cancel orders, and print Etsy shipping labels.

Even though Etsy has said that vacations do not affect your rankings and optimization, some of them are tense and reported that they are not getting the traffic compared to getting it before the vacation. For such people, there are similar ways to give you some time.
The best and top alternative is to put your shop in a late shipping sale. It can help you to bring income even during your vacation period and can take enough time for your needs.
If you want to attract customers to the late shipping sale, give 15-20% discounts on the product. Another way is to hire a staff member to handle all your orders. This can help you relax and will not affect the sales of your shop. Both of these can be better alternatives to vacation mode.
What to Write for Vacation Mode on Etsy?
It is very important to inform your customers that you are going on a vacation. Otherwise, they will not search your products and will think the shop is closed. So you have to write a message to the customers to inform them about this vacation. You can start with greetings and tell that you are taking a gap.
If you know the accurate date of vacation end, then you can also add sentences like- ‘the products will be available from November 6’. Otherwise, you can just say Hello! Thank you for reaching out. We’re currently on Vacation Mode. You can add a particular date to it. It will be better than writing random vacation messages.
How Long Does It Take for Etsy to Take Your Shop Off Vacation Mode?
Usually, it will take 48 hours to take new orders after this vacation. Etsy will ask for two days to verify all your documents and details before taking your shop off vacation mode.
If they need any documents, they will ask you. Otherwise, we just have to go off vacation mode and do nothing. You should also remember to check whether the credit card is expired or not.
Once my credit card got expired and I forgot to check it. This delayed the Etsy actions. So always ensure that your documents are proper and well maintained.
